Solar panels improve your energy independence.

Imagine opening your electricity bill and seeing the numbers go down – or in some cases a credit. Imagine knowing that during a long, hot summer, you’re protected against power outages and strains on the electricity grid. And imagine the feeling that you’re contributing to a greener, cleaner future.

This is the power of solar—and it all starts with the solar panels you choose.
WHY solar?

The real value of solar panels.

Installing a solar system on your property is your ticket to achieving energy independence. It’s a decision that you won’t regret.

HOW SoLAR WORKS

The key components of your solar system.

If you’re considering getting solar panels installed, you might be wondering how your new solar system works. There are five main elements of your system that all work together to help you generate, and use, electricity.

Solar panels

Your system’s solar panels are what capture the sun’s energy. Known as photovoltaic, or PV, panels, they’re arranged in a sequence called a solar array, and are carefully positioned to receive as much sunlight as possible throughout the year. The cells in the panels absorb energy from the sun’s rays, creating an electrical charge. This current moves through the panel and into your property’s electrical system.

Solar inverter

The solar inverter is the important unit that converts the direct current (DC) power produced by your solar panels into the 240-volt alternating current (AC) electricity that powers your property. However, not every inverter is the same. And you’ll need the right one for your solar system.

There are a few different types of inverters available. String inverters are connected to multiple solar panels in an array. Hybrid inverters convert DC power from both solar panels and batteries. And microinverters are small inverter units that attach to a single solar panel.

Grid connection

The inverter is also what connects your solar system to the electricity grid. Your inverter is carefully wired so that it connects your switchboard to your electricity meter. This allows it to both feed unused electricity into the network, and also draw electricity when your solar panels aren’t generating power.

Solar battery

A solar battery is a clever addition to your solar system that enables you to store the electricity your solar panels generate and use it later when your system isn’t producing. So rather than feeding your extra electricity back into the system, you get to use it all—and even further reduce the amount of electricity you have to pay for.

Panel mounting equipment

While not involved in the production of electricity, your panel mounting equipment is what allows you to install solar panels on your roof in the first place. We use a rack or rail mounting system to attach your solar panels to your roof. Made of aluminium rails and brackets, the quality of your components is what ensures the longevity of your solar system.

Our installation process.

Our team has over 40 years of experience helping South Australians gain their energy independence. And during this time, we’ve fine-tuned our installation process to minimise impact and disruption to your property. Here’s how our process works.
01 — First, submit an enquiry

We’ll organise a time to visit your property and for an on-site energy assessment. During this assessment we’ll look at roof condition, its exposure to sunlight, and any shading that could impact it. From here we can determine the best placement of your system.

02 — Design for your solar system

Using the unique sizing, shape, elevation, and angle of your roof we design a solar system that maximises sun exposure.

03 — Book a time to install your system

We can typically install your solar system within one to two days.

04 — Arrive on site with all the materials we’ll need

This includes your solar panels, mounting equipment, inverters, and other components.

05 — Our friendly team runs you through the process

Our friendly team will explain exactly what we’ll be doing, answer your questions and finalise any outstanding paperwork.

06 — Complete a pre-install inspection

We inspect your electrical switchboard and make any upgrades required to connect your solar system.

07 — It’s time to install your solar panels

Fix the mounting equipment to your roof (or the part of your property where your solar array is being installed). Once the mounting equipment is secure, we install your solar panels as outlined in your solar system design.

08 — Inverter and system connection

We install your solar inverter on a shaded external wall of your property, or in a garage if it’s safe to do so, making sure it’s close to your switchboard. We then install the necessary cables to connect your solar array to your inverter. We also install a circuit breaker between the inverter and switchboard, which helps to protect your system against electrical hazards.

09 — Understanding smart monitoring

Our team will show you how to use the smart monitoring app that comes with your system, so you can manage your energy load and solar performance.

10 — That’s it: your solar system is installed

You can start generating solar power immediately. Welcome to your energy independence journey.
