It is possible for your Event to be Carbon Neutral, and The Theatrical Events Company (TTEC) can show you how. We approach Carbon Neutral Events in two ways. Please read on for more information.
Carbon Neutral at an Operational Level.At the Theatrical Events Company we believe that, as a company can limit our impact on the Environment. We believe that the way we run our business and the way that we support our team can reduce our Carbon Emissions. There are a number of ways that we are trying to limit our Carbon Emissions, what follows are some examples.Transport is always a big producer of Carbon Emissions. Having our vechiles tyres at the right pressure will reduce our fuel consumption by 3% as well as reducing the wear on the tyre. When ever we are installing an event, we go to great lengths to make sure that only one trip to the event site is needed, thus reducing the greenhouse gas emissions from our vechiles. We always make sure that we use the appropriate sized vehicle, as there is no point having a half empty truck, when a full small van will do, thus reducing our greenhouse gas emmisions from our vehicles. Another aspect of this, is making sure that we bring only the euqipment that we really need, thus reducing the weight of the vechile, and adding to the fuel economy.Staff Transport When we are doing an event, we encourage our team to get to the event by a carbon friendly transport means, and will subsidize public transport tickets and provide safe facilities onsite for the locking of bikes. When public transport isn’t possible, or the event is a significant distance away, we will organize carpooling and offset the cost by paying carbon neutral organizations to plant trees to offset our carbon emissions.Operations At The Theatrical Events Company we are focused on reducing the amount of waste that the office uses, and as such rarely print documents, instead choosing to use them in an electronic form, or making sure that we finalize a document before printing. We are also looking at signing onto green power with our local electricity company.Your Event Being Carbon NeutralIn addition to the measures set out above, when you hire services and equipment from The Theatrical Events Company you have the option of whether you want to make your event Carbon Neutral. For a small cost you can plant trees which is a very effective method of combating greenhouse gas emissions. Trees absorb Carbon Dioxide as they grow and trap it for years to come. On average, over 70 years, six trees planted in Australia will absorb one tonne of CO2 with 80-90% of the absorption occurring in the first 30 years. This organisation is a Not-For-Profit organisation founded by Men of the Trees (WA) and affiliated with Trees for Life (SA).
