Mackie SWA1501 500W Subwoofer - Still in Warranty! - $1300 ono - FREE DELIVERY MELB METRO AREA!!!

We can’t praise this unit enough, and we loved it both times we used it… quite literally this unit has been used on two events! It’s brand new and has no scratches! We purchased it before we purchased our main FOH speakers, and well, they pack a punch and really don’t need this sub. It would be a perfect addition to any band PA or DJ system and we are basically throwing it away for $1300 or nearest offer. We have the original receipt and manuals and it is still in warranty! Official info as follows:

The SWA1501 features an internal 500-Watt Mackie FR (Fast Recovery) Series amplifier and a high-precision 15″ transducer, custom designed for optimal performance with the amp and enclosure. Onboard Mackie Active electronics ensure seamless integration of the amplifier and transducer at all times, creating a system that is highly efficient and versatile.

TRUE ACTIVE SUBWOOFER
Active doesn’t just mean the SWA1501 has an amplifier bolted on its back—it means optimized electronics that provide complete control and maximum performance over all components. The onboard Active system controls the crossover filters, equalization, protection for the transducer and electronics, and provides real time vigilance over the entire system. There is simply no way that you can get this kind of full system functionality by strapping an amp on the back of a passive speaker box.

BUILT-IN CROSSOVER
Connecting and setting up the SWA1501 is a breeze. It accepts a stereo or mono line-level signal via female XLR input jacks. Male XLR Thru jacks are provided for daisy-chaining the signal to additional SWA1501 cabinets. The built-in crossover routes the high frequency content to the high-pass output jacks, which can be used to feed the inputs of full-range Active speakers, such as those in the SRM Series, or an amplifier powering a pair of passive speakers. A Subwoofer Level control lets you adjust the balance between the subwoofer and the full-range speakers.

LOTS OF ONBOARD HORSEPOWER…
The SWA1501’s built-in amplifier, which produces 500 watts continuous power, sits on a massive heatsink, eliminating the need for fans and dramatically extending life expectancy. A tremendous benefit of having the amplifier inside the subwoofer enclosure is that the SWA1501 functions as a complete system, optimizing acoustic, electronic, and mechanical designs to achieve the highest level of performance and value.

SOLID WOOD CONSTRUCTION
For High-output loudspeakers, real wood just sounds better—and it looks better, too! The SWA1501 enclosure is made of select 18mm Baltic birch plywood and finished in black splatter paint. Carrying handles are integrated into each side for easy loading. Since you will probably want the mid/high pack nearby, a pole mount receptacle is strategically placed on top of the enclosure.

Hybrid Taxi - TTEC Carbon Neutral Events

Spotted on Brunswick Road in Moonee Ponds, a Toyota Prius Hybrid Electric Taxi. A good step towards tackling climate change we think!

Silver Top Taxi Toyota Prius Melbourne

TTEC then did some research and found an article in the New South Wales Taxi Driver’s Magazine ‘Meter’ from September of 2007, see www.nswtaxi.org.au/public/meter/Meter%20editions/Meter_August07.pdf It explained that in NSW they have been trialing Hybrid vechiles as taxis since January 2006 and that the results show that drivers could save up to 30% on their fuel bill.

We were unable to find any direct information about the Hybrid Taxis in use in Melbourne, but we did find information from Toyota www.toyota.com.au/hybrid and also information relating to Toyota’s plans to build a new Camry in Melbourne.

We would love a TTEC Hybrid Car, but at the moment they are too expensive! What we would love is a Hybrid Van! For more information on carbon neutral events please CONTACT TTEC!

BioDiesel in Melbourne - TTEC Events

From The Age… dated June 26 2007…

“Smorgon heir puts money into green service stations” “At a tiny service station in High Street, Prahran, under the brand name Conservo, Mr Edwards and his business partners will start selling E10 (unleaded petrol blended with 10 per cent ethanol), B20 (diesel blended with 20 per cent biodiesel) and B100 (100 per cent biodiesel) to the public. E10 is suitable for use in all petrol vehicles and both the B20 and the B100 can be used in standard diesel engines. The fuels all have claimed lower carbon emissions than standard petrol and diesel.”

I drove across to Prahran today to get a haircut. For me, a normal trip to Prahran would be via public transport, as that side of town is congested, busy and has little parking. But i remembered this morning that my car, a 1994 Toyota 4Runner (3.2lt 4 cylinder diesel) was low on petrol, so i made the decision to drive and select one of the two diesel fuels on offer at Conservo. The two fuels on offer were Continue reading ‘BioDiesel in Melbourne - TTEC Events’
