VCA 3rd Year Trend Setting Party - Art Auditorium, VCA Campus, Southbank - October 2007
Over 100 3rd Year VCA Students celebrated the “start of the end” last week, at the “End of Year CFI (Centre for Ideas) Trend Setting Party”. The students, from Art, Dance, Drama, Music, Film and Television and Production converged on the Art Auditorium, at the VCA’s Southbank Campus, for an evening of dress-ups, new “trends”, dancing and celebration. The team from The Theatrical Events Company (TTEC) provided the Lighting, Sound and Theming for the event. The ambient light in the room took direction from the famous Dan Flavin, focusing on the use of colour, contrast, quality of light and using conventional light fittings. Blue fluorescent light fittings were positioned leaning against the wall in 8 locations around the room and tungsten dichroic up lights were used either side of these blue tubes to create an amazing contrast of light, colour, and beam between these two light mediums. The Theatrical Events Company (TTEC) took this opportunity to showcase their new Mackie Sound System, and Yamaha Mixing Console. This system consisted of two Mackie SA1521z Speakers, and one Mackie SWA1501 Subwoofer. The system which is rated for up to 450 people has over 1500W of power, and kept the guests dancing all night long.
