The Theatrical Events Company (TTEC) is a new and exciting company that was founded in early 2007 by Geordie Barker, a student at the VCA. TTEC, specializes in Lighting, Sound, AV(Projection), Production Management, Technical Management & Stage Management. Working for a wide range of clients, the company is involved in variety of diverse activities, including fashion launches, exhibitions and private and corporate events.
TTEC endeavors to apply theatrical production inspiration to corporate and private applications. This unique approach sets TTEC apart from the other production companies in Melbourne, which source their skills from the Exhibition, Electrical, and Carpentry Industries. TTEC is also involved in the distribution of equipment and services to the Arts Industry. Through effective equipment management, and investment in smart technologies, TTEC can provide artists and arts groups with discounted equipment, advice and services.
The company does not support the new Workplace Relations Laws and as such will work to retain its workers rights at work. It also supports workers who wish to join the industry’s union body, The Alliance. TTEC predominately employs students from the VCA School of Production, but in the past has also employed students from other disciplines within the VCA. Making use of students’ exposure to a broad range of performance styles and applications means that TTEC can provide a service that is fresh and bold, a service that is designed to provide clients with original and creative installations and production designs.
